About

William Herbert is a digital artist and designer from Princeton, New Jersey. He currently attends Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, where he is studying towards a BFA in both Game Design and Digital Art. Before moving to the city, William completed a rigorous four-year program in the photographic arts, coming away from high school with a perfectly scored International Baccalaureate ‘higher level’ certification in the visual arts. His photographic works have been featured in multiple exhibitions, including an award from Drexel University’s High School Photography Competition. Despite his successes in photography, William's passionate interests in game design and storytelling have lead to a collegiate career in these fields. While studying the digital arts and game design, he is concurrently pursuing a minor in English writing, focusing specifically on creative writing. In the future, William hopes to develop his story-telling skills to complement his artistic ability—leading to professional tracts like creative direction and level design that seamlessly blend the two.

Amid his forays as a student, William has managed to complete pre-professional work, assisting as a writing intern for the tech-site geardiary.com. He hopes to continue to build a specialized professional resume through Northeastern University’s co-op program and study-abroad opportunities. Following in the gargantuan footsteps of contemporaries Ken Levine and David Cage, it is one of his dreams to work as a lead writer or creative director for a major game studio.
